YWAM Blackfalds is new, yet old. It is the story of a journey, one that is neither yet finished nor lackluster. The journey has been weaved through many lives and much prayer, in early times without concept, just dreams of what could be. A time when many never thought nor imagined something that had existed so far away would one day be so close.

Although YWAM Blackfalds itself is a new location, new only applies to the geographical location. The ministry and staff have all relocated from another location in order to see the thoughts and desires of their hearts fulfilled and realized. The previous location did not allow nor enhance the desire for community. As there was a growing ache to be part of a larger community and be involved in peoples daily lives it became obvious that a move was necessary.

Blackfalds was chosen because we were already starting work on , a non-profit coffee house. We thought it wise to create a synergy between the schools we offer and the purpose of the coffee house. Blackfalds as well has long been a center for YWAM involvement, with many people from the area attending various school, ministries and locations around the globe.

Blackfalds is ideally located in Central Alberta. It is nestled between Calgary and Edmonton, both of which have international airports. There are many beautiful parks, pathways, rivers and lakes in the surrounding area due the abundant lushness of the region.

Blackfalds is a small growing community that is 10 minutes outside the city Red Deer.
