YWAM Blackfalds

YWAM Blackfalds originates out of a desire for a fresh approach to expressing the love and truth of Jesus through authentic and purposeful relationships.  We are involved in mission work through a variety of opportunities both locally and internationally.  A few of the local ways include a non-profit coffee house, training schools, and community involvement.

YWAM Blackfalds began in Jan. 2000 at a children's camp outside of Medicine Hat, Alberta.  Originally called "YWAM Eagles Nest" the name was changed in early 2008 after the base moved to Blackfalds, Alberta.

Local ministry

YWAM is involved in several local activites. On a weekly basis we serve in the Food for Schools program, prepare meals at a soup kitchen in Red Deer, offer English classes for local immigrants, and our staff volunteer with several community organizations. We also host seminars, conferences, film festivals and organize food drives. Our desire is to be a benefit to our local community and bring the hope of Jesus Christ to our friends and neighbours.

International ministry

On an international level YWAM Blackfalds supports many Christian projects around the world.  We do this through sending funds raised through special events and our coffee shop, and by sending teams of staff/students to assist in these projects.  Our focus has been SE Asia including countries like S. Korea, Philippines, China, India, Thailand, and Malaysia but we have also sent teams to eastern Europe and the Caribean.

YWAM Blackfalds is located 10 km's north of the city of Red Deer in the town of Blackfalds, AB. We are very close to Calgary (145 km) and Edmonton (130 km) and the beautiful Rocky Mountains are only a  2 hour drive away.
